1. Acceptance of Policy

BY DOWNLOADING, INSTALLING, ACCESSING, OR USING THE BASKIT APPLICATION, YOU AUTOMATICALLY AND UNCONDITIONALLY AGREE TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY IN ITS ENTIRETY. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH ANY PART OF THIS PRIVACY POLICY, YOU MUST NOT DOWNLOAD, INSTALL, ACCESS, OR USE THE APPLICATION. YOUR DOWNLOAD OR USE OF THE APPLICATION CONSTITUTES YOUR BINDING ACCEPTANCE OF THIS POLICY.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and optional display name. This information is used to authenticate your account and enable collaboration features. We use Firebase Authentication, a service provided by Google, to manage your account credentials.

2.2 Household and Shopping List Data

To provide our core service, we collect and store information about your households, shopping lists, and items. This includes household names, list items, categories, quantities, and completion status.

2.3 Receipt Data and AI Processing

When you use our receipt scanning feature, we process images of your receipts using artificial intelligence (Google Gemini) to extract information. We do not permanently store your receipt images. Images are processed ephemerally and deleted immediately after extraction.

2.4 Location Data (Optional)

If you enable location services, we may collect your location data to provide store detection features via geofencing. You can disable location services at any time through your device settings.

2.5 Device and Usage Information

We collect device tokens for push notifications and timezone information for time-sensitive features.

2.6 Subscription Information

Subscription transactions are processed through Apple's App Store. We receive confirmation of your subscription status but do not have access to your payment details.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to operate the application, enable synchronization, process receipts, send notifications, provide support, detect fraud, and comply with legal obligations.

DATA USAGE FOR MACHINE LEARNING AND ANALYTICS: We may use your shopping data, purchasing patterns, item preferences, and usage behavior to train, develop, and improve machine learning algorithms and analytical models. This data may be used to enhance the shopping experience, provide personalized recommendations, improve item categorization, optimize app features, and develop new functionality. By using the App, you consent to this use of your data for algorithmic improvement and machine learning purposes.

4. How We Share Your Information

We share data with household members you invite, service providers (Google Cloud Platform, Firebase, Google Gemini, Apple), and as required by law. We do not sell your personal information.

Our third-party service providers, including Google, Firebase, and Apple, maintain their own privacy policies governing the collection and use of your data. Baskit is not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party services. We encourage you to review their respective privacy policies.

5. Data Security

WE IMPLEMENT SECURITY MEASURES BUT MAKE NO GUARANTEES REGARDING SECURITY. NO METHOD OF TRANSMISSION OVER THE INTERNET IS 100% SECURE. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND ACCEPT THAT ANY DATA TRANSMISSION OR STORAGE IS ENTIRELY AT YOUR OWN RISK. WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY SECURITY BREACHES, DATA LOSS, OR UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all your personal data will be permanently deleted.

7. Your Rights

You may delete your account at any time through Settings > Delete Account. This action is permanent and cannot be undone. For other requests, contact us at the email below.

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area, you may have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, correct, port, or delete your personal data, and the right to restrict or object to certain processing.

If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion of your data, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell your personal information.

8. Children's Privacy

Baskit is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

9. Analytics and Crash Reporting

We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, services provided by Google, to collect anonymized usage data and crash reports. This helps us understand how the App is used and to identify and fix technical issues. These services may collect device identifiers, usage patterns, and crash logs. 10. Data Breach Notification

In the event of a data security breach that affects your personal information, Baskit will make reasonable efforts to notify affected users as required by applicable law. Baskit shall not be liable for any damages arising from a security breach except to the minimum extent required by law.

11. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your residence. By using Baskit, you consent to such transfers.

12. Changes to This Policy

WE MAY UPDATE THIS PRIVACY POLICY AT ANY TIME AT OUR SOLE DISCRETION WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE. CHANGES BECOME EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY UPON POSTING. YOUR CONTINUED USE CONSTITUTES ACCEPTANCE. IT IS YOUR SOLE RESPONSIBILITY TO REVIEW THIS POLICY PERIODICALLY.
